Government has extended the mandate of the Information and Media Panel of Inquiry by two months to afford more time to those who may want to make further contributions.
The panel was expected to wind up its operations on July 31, but the deadline has been extended to September 30.IMPI was set up by the Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services to assess the state of the media in Zimbabwe. “The Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services has extended the mandate of the Information and Media of Panel of Inquiry by a further two months to the end of September, 2014,” reads part of a statement from the ministry.
“IMPI, therefore, invites individuals and institutions that still wish to make a contribution to the panel’s inquiry to do so by making submissions in writing.”
The Ministry urged women, youths and youth organisations to seize the opportunity to make their submissions.
Producers, content production, disadvantaged groups and other special interest groups were also urged to make their contributions.
The submissions should be made in writing and can be delivered to IMPI offices in Harare or via email.
